The best roast pork here or on the mainland.

I came here and ordered some pork intestines, pork stomach, and cuttlefish. I've learned that I'm not a huge fan of the pork intestines from Char Siu House because after a few days in the fridge, I couldn't stand the smell. The cuttlefish was good but a bit pricey ($17/lb).I'd come back to try the Char Siu since that is their namesake. However, when it comes to Chinese BBQ, I'm still a Nam Fong fan.

One of our stops on the Hawaii Food Tour...and the one that I was most looking forward to (from having taken the tour before). The Char Siu is moist, flavorful, and delicious. My favorite meat is the Crispy Pork...affectionately known as '5 Layers of Heaven'. This roasted pork belly...pork meat layers and a top of layer of the most delicious crispy skin. One or two small pieces are more than enough, but it;s a must-try! It melts in your mouth and the crispy texture is decadent!

Ok, sweet and to the point here. 1/2 roast duck for $10.50 and 1lb of char siu for $9? Are you kidding me? They have the best char siu, perfectly marbled and their seasoning is the the best. Char siu has a tendancy to dry out if not done well, and theirs is always juicy. Their roast duck always has a good amount of meat on it so you aren't getting swindled by paying mostly for fat and no meat. Any trip to Maunakea Markets for groceries always concludes with a stop at Char Siu house of at least 1/2 lb of char siu.

This place is relatively new, open for about a year. What I love about it (besides the fact that they have the best char siu) is that it looks nice new and clean. I like that they put some effort into making the place not look like a ...?
